Licence Format

You are required to produce your Licence if directed by Mr Plod, whilst in charge of a Motor Vehicle, Correct?
Now my question, do the road rules state in what format this must be in?
If for example I was to show Mr Plod my Licence as a picture on my iPhone, would this be fulfilling my legal obligations?

The law requires you to carry your licence on you when driving, or if you are a full licence holder to have an explanation as to why you do not have it. I show my iphone ID all the time and the only ones to complain about it are banks and car hire companies.

..thought full licence holders (without Z) had seven days to produce?

If you aren't carrying it the police can require you to produce it within 7 days.
