Bus drivers caught breaking law

Postby busdriver » Fri Jan 22, 2016 1:04 am

Us bus drivers over here in Adelaide got a bit bad rap on seven news last night.

What the story doesn't tell you is that there over 1200 buses on the road in Adelaide and about there about 1500 drivers. Most of the fines have seen for speeding are low-level less than 10km/h over the limit and the red light offences generally the light has only been red for between 0.5 and 1.0 second (10 years ago we weren't give fines unless the light had been red greater than 2.0 seconds.

99% of fines we receive are from cameras.

There has been a similar story here about judges getting caught speeding

Apart from being a beat up, if such law abiding members of our community are being pinged it suggests the speed camera system is really a road tax.
