Hi there,
Back in 2011- I posed this same question in this forum, and the answer was NO, and I'm wondering if anything has changed.
Is it NOW mandatory for ALL drivers to carry their drivers license at all times while driving, as the police are NOW claiming?
I'm suspicions something may have changed during the past 2 to 3 years.
Your opinions appreciated!

Which police? Give us some background. Are you referring to a probationary driver or a full licence holder? Are you referring to Victoria or another state?

Re: Carry Driver License at all times
It has always been mandatory for all drivers to produce on demand their drivers licence when driving a motor vehicle. However most full licence holders have an exception available to them - if they can offer an explanation as to why they are not carrying it and do provide a specimen signature and do produce the licence within 7 days, then they don't commit the offence.
