loss licence for 2 years

Dear Sean
Jarrod here six months ago i lost my licence for 2 years for failing to give information to police as to helping them find a driver i went to cort and it got agernde to another date the next 2 cort aprences i was in qld and when i was on the way home police rang and told me i dont have to go to cort it is only a miner affence but the jugde gave me maxement penelty of 2 years and $250 fine because i was not there
just wondering if there is any thing that can be done about this as i need my licence for work as a mechanic

You should apply for a rehearing of your case.

Go to a court and ask the registrar that you want to apply for a rehearing. You will then need to serve a copy of the re hearing application on the police who charged you, and then turn up in 2 or 3 weeks to ask the magistrate to set aside the orders. You will need to give a good reason why you did not appear at court. You should also consider getting legal representation on the application if you think your licence is worth it.
